Pere Marquette River
Temps – low 30’s          Water Conditions – average
>>>The lower PM River has had a good bite going, though the upper and middle sections have been more hit or miss.  Possibly with this rain some of those lower river fish will head upstream a few miles.  Kevin Morlock

Big Manistee River
Temps – 35          Water Conditions – high average
>>>Solid steelhead fishing on the Manistee River.  Anglers are boating fish consistently on a variety of methods and enjoying the nice weather.

Muskegon River
Temps – 34          Water Conditions – average
>>>Look for the steelie bite to be at it’s best during the afternoon when the water warms a degree or two.  Fish on the bottom with stones, wiggle hexs and black leaches.  The boat launches are slick.  Phil Cusey

Pere Marquette River
Temps – mid 30’s          Water Conditions – average
>>>So far it has been a good winter for fishing, decent snow levels with mild temps.  The river is in good shape with the lower sections still open.  Fishing is average to good considering water temps are only a few degrees above freezing.  Kevin Morlock

Big Manistee River
Temps – 33          Water Conditions – a little above average
>>>Steelheading on the Big Manistee River is good.  Drifting egg and nymph patterns and slow swinging streamers have both been winning choices.

Muskegon River
Temps – 34          Water Conditions – slight stain, average level
>>>Steelhead are in the deeper holding water.  Bottom bounce for them with stones, wiggle hex’s and black leaches.  The boat launches are icy and snow packed… use caution!  Phil Cusey

Temps – 30’s          Water Conditions – icy
>>>The PM River received a fresh batch of steelhead before winter hit.  The boat landings and river will be tough until the weather stabilizes.  Then I would expect good winter steelheading.  Kevin Morlock

>>>The weather will have to stabilize.  Steelhead fishing before the snow was fair but the trout fishing below Tippy Dam has been great.

>>>Winter is upon west Michigan.  Nymphing for trout with scuds, pheasant tails and hare’s ear nymphs will produce the best results.  Steelhead will begin to move out of the runs into deep holding water.  Phil Cusey
