Pere Marquette- rising
After two days of rain in the morning the Pere Marquette is finally rising. This should mean good salmon fishing over the holiday weekend. There are good numbers of fish already in the system, you just have to catch them in the mood to bite. We’ve been catching a few fish here and there every day, but the higher water should really improve things. Matt Dunn

Manistee- average
Still no reports of a good salmon run though they are being caught at the mouth. With some good rain these fish should be moving up.

Muskegon- below average
The river is still very low and warm. No salmon yet and until we get some cooler temps they won’t show themselves. Smallmouth fishing is very good. Phil Cusey
