Steelhead still around, good trout fishing.

Pere Marquette Temps – around 50                                     Water Conditions – perfect
>>>Still enough steelhead around to make for a great day.  Trout fishing has been good with perfect water conditions.  Hatches include:  tiny black stonefly, small caddis (little black, green & tan), Hendrickson & blue wing olive mayflies.  Gray drakes soon.     -
Kevin Morlock

Big Manistee Temps – mid 50’s                                            Water Conditions – above average
>>>Steelhead fishing is still good and should continue for a while longer.  Trout fishing has been good with hatches including Hendrickson, black quill, blue wing olive (BWO) and small caddis.

Muskegon  Temps – low 50’s                                               Water Conditions – above average
>>>The steelhead fishing is still strong on the Muskegon.  The water is low and clear enough to use something besides chuck n’ duck.  Trout are active and chasing streamers with some dry fly fishing action available.

Brandon Butler of Driftwood Outdoors holding his new Fly Rod World Record dogfish or bowfin.  Caught on April 11th, 2009 while fishing near Ludington with Kevin Morlock.  For more info see the latest Pere Marquette Fishing Report. Great looking drop-back hen steelhead.  Drop-
back’s can offer great opportunities by fishing good
holding water.
